The Certified Network Defender (CND) certification program focuses on creating Network Administrators who are trained in protecting, detecting, and responding to threats on the network. Network administrators are usually familiar with network components, traffic, performance and utilization, network topology, the location of each system, and security policies.
A CND will gain a fundamental understanding of the true construct of data transfer and network technologies, as well as software technologies. This understanding will enable them to comprehend how networks operate and analyze the subject material. Moreover, the program covers network defense fundamentals, the application of network security controls, protocols, perimeter appliances, secure IDS, VPN, and firewall configuration. It also delves into the intricacies of network traffic signatures, analysis, and vulnerability scanning.
